Michelle Obama was front and center in London,
cheering on Team USA as they compete in the Olympic games. Politico
says, “U.S. wrestler Elena Pirozhkova didn’t just want a handshake or
hug from Michelle Obama on Friday. She wanted to pick her up. And Elena Pirozhkova did just that – lifting up the first lady during her visit
to the U.S. Olympic team’s training center in London. The moment was
captured by Pirozhkova’s teammate Clarissa Chun who posted a photo on Twitter
afterward. In case you’re wondering, Pirozhkova did ask Obama for
permission first. "I hugged her, and then I asked her if I could pick
her up. I think she was nervous,” she said in a statement from USA
Wrestling via USA Today.
“I went slow. I just picked her up. I wanted to ask her permission.
There was security all around. And she gave it. I will only meet her
once. I wanted to do something different.'' More from USA Today.
