Me either, but Roll Call’s Kate Tummarello says there’s a method behind
the music to wait to. She writes, “On the House side, members get two
choices, silence or patriotic music. Senator have more options: silence,
classical, instrumentals of popular music,
patriotic music and country.” Although the options are limited, the hold
