Meg Whitman’s campaign is taking some heat from a very popular internet website. FailBlog, a humor site with the tag line “helping yourself feel better everyday,” has accused Whitman’s campaign of faking a screen shot of its website in an ad attacker her opponent Jerry Brown in the race for California’s next Governor. PolitiCal’s blogging, FailBlog “demanded that the footage be excised from the video that is in heavy rotation on television stations across the state.” “We demand a written apology from the Whitman campaign and the removal of the video,” wrote Ben Huh, founder of the Cheezburger Network. The network includes FailBlog, as well as the popular “I Can Has Cheezburger?” blog of amusingly captioned cat pictures.” Whitman’s campaign said it has no intention to remove the footage.
